Subject: HTTP Server: Error - Unable to Bind port 80 (strange)
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Notes Client
Technical Area: Error Message
Platform: Windows XP client
Release: 8.5
Reproducible: Always

Dear list,

I try to preview a local replica of an application in the local web browser. For this, I choose Actions -> Preview in Web Browser when the app is selection in the workspace. The result is 'Navigation to the webpage was canceled' and the log shows the following entry:

PM HTTP Server: Error - Unable to Bind port 80, port may be in use or user needs net_privaddr privilege

I used "netstat -na" to verify that port 80 is not in use. I checked, using Fport, that port 80 is open. Finally, I even installed Xampp to verify that it *is* able to bind to port 80 and displays a webpage. When Xampp was running, Notes would also emit the above error message (this time I could understand it).

Any ideas what this could be? I have just installed Notes 8.5 with Designer/Administrator afresh and the problem persists.

Any hint very much appreciated!
Huck
